First Photo shoot

We decided that we wanted to have the option, when making posters, to use some posed images as well as stills from the film itself so set about planning a photo shoot. I managed to book the studio in school (which I have used for photography in the past) and we spent an hour taking some posed images. Unfortunately, Scott (Chris Mutter) was unable to attend the shoot so we decided to take his images at a later date or during filming the remaining few scenes (when we plan to take images of our gang leader 'K' played by Jamie Cronin).

Robyn

I particularly like this image of Robyn, I think it captures the conventions of Film Noir well through low key lighting etc. however i'm not sure it would work well in a poster as there isn't enough blank space for text, the facial expression also doesn't show off he character well enough.

The soft focus here gives a more stylistic feel
and I the fact it isn't a close up but I don't think
it's a strong enough image to use for a poster.
The solemn facial expression works well here, I like
the way the lighting only reveals part of the face
this gives room for text and also indicates a
darker side to her personality.
Jade

I think this image is the strongest of Jade, it shows her kind nature and I think the lighting is also strong.

This could work as a character profile shot as the
neutral facial expression doesn't show much in
the way of themes explores in the film.
I also like this image, I think the white background
works well to add to the atmosphere. Could
work for a teaser advertising campaign.

Robyn and Jade

I edited this image because I felt that Robyn's facial expression was really strong and I also liked the composition, however i'm not sure I like the fact that Jade is looking away from the camera. I chose to blur Jade's face to put emphasis on the fact that Robyn is the main character.

I preferred the positioning of the two more in the previous shot as I feel they are a little too close in this one, however I much prefer Jade's eye contact with the camera in this one, I again chose to blur Jade for reasons expressed previously. I feel this is again to compact with not enough space to use as a poster image but I still think it is a lovely shot.
